Have Flood Insurance Guidelines Changed for Your Area?
According to www.wboc.com in Chrisfield, MD "More people may have to buy flood insurance for the first time under new floodplains drawn by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA will not mail individual notices; it advises people to go to their planning agencies to compare old and new maps."
FEMA regularly updates their floodplains so to make sure you are covered adequately, check regularly within your local area to see if your property has been put into a new floodplain.

Want to Name Your Own Price for Car Insurance?
Progressive wants you to. Progressive has recently made it into the top 5 of Information Week's list of the country's most innovative users of business technology. One reson they got into the top 5 is their "Name Your Own Car Insurance Price" tool.
It is a really neat tool. You put in info about you and your car into Progressive's tool on their website and Progressive will give the user car insruance options as close to the clients suggested price. Users can also drag a sliding bar to tweak their coverage to get even closer to the price they want.
One thing to remember is that only looking at the price of car insurance is a bad idea. The whole car insurance package needs to properly meet your needs. Of course paying a cheap car insurance price is no good if it does not cover you well.

Is Mandated Health Insurance Even Legal?
This is the question being raised across the country and many states are threatening to sue over the health care reform bill's mandated health insurance requirement.
According to The Seattle Times writer Bruce Ramsey, "The individual mandate to buy health insurance is a key part of the Democrats' health-care plan. Their package, if they can pass it now, doesn't work without the mandate. But is it constitutional?" He expands more in his article about why it may not be constitutional and that the Supreme Court could go either way on the decision.
